Recent Neflix movies:

Equilibrium - Stylish mishmash of sci-fi cliches, most prominently Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and the Matrix. In a totalitarian future that has banished emotion with the drug "prozium" unruly-haired rebels fight perfectly coifed "clerics" who dress in Keanu's long robe from Matrix 2 and go around burning books. Among the many disapointments, Christian Bale only takes his shirt off once.

The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill - This would have made a nice Nova or Nature episode. As a theatrical film, it's a bit thin. I wholeheartedly believe that those parrots would peck that guy's eyes out given half a chance.

The Aristocrats - Not as boring as I would have thought. I liked the way they explored the many facets of the joke, and I laughed a few times. But talk of excrement and rape gets old even in the best of situations, n'est-ce pas?
